ABOUT MIRANDA

Miranda Perl is a vocalist and educator from Monterey, California. She got her start in high school with the Monterey Jazz Festival Regional Honor Vocal ensemble, having the opportunity to perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 2014 and 2015. She then went on to graduate from the prestigious Jazz Studies program at the University of Northern Colorado where she studied with Julia Dollison and Kerry Marsh. She performed as a member of VocaLab, receiving numerous DownBeat Magazine awards.

Since returning to Monterey in 2020, she has been active in the local jazz and education scenes, and has performed and recorded with such artists as Bruce Forman, Gary Meek, Cindy Alexander, and Grammy-nominated Dennis Murphy. She has appeared at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato in Los Angeles, and Kuumbwa Jazz Center, among many others. Miranda performs the best of the American Songbook featuring fresh takes on jazz standards, and classic hits from legendary artists Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, and more. Rooted in the jazz tradition, Miranda’s sound is modern and innovative.

Miranda offers private voice lessons to people of all ages at the Dennis Murphy School of Music. She also offers foundational piano lessons.
